ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
In reply to dcollins1981: I had to switch to the alpha release to get it to work as the stable version was still on wow patch 10.2.7. You can switch release version on the overwolf addon manager by right clicking the addon and selecting the release type. Or you can download it from this site directly.
In reply to GrumpyNPC: Thanks I found the alpha versions after I posted it and thought that me be it
I like that now the bank and the warband tabs dont all open together, but it would be better if all the warband tabs could be opened as one big tab, separate from reagent and regular bank, but not separate from eachother. Similar to how all the bank bags open together.
I thought i lost a stack of Azureweave Bolt. I went to add it to one of the warband tabs, but it was full so it gave me the no bag space error and then my item disappeared, but what it did was add it to my regular bank. That was confusing, if it is going to add it anywhere it should be another warband tab.
Hey Arkayenro, I know you've made updates for preptach and people are still reporting minor bugs here and there, but for my whole family the addon isn't working at all. We're playing in the german language region and there's just a whole bunch of things going wrong - lua errors while hovering with the mouse over hotbars, pre-patch items not being displayed in the bags (at all) and the addon therefore being unable to update the bags content. It's unusable for us, and I can't figure out if it's just a problem for us, or if it might be something going wrong with the language region? We're all experiencing it, but nobody on the internet seems to share our issues?
In reply to BunzLee: please open a ticket via the issues page and include the errors so i can take a look at it.
i have no idea whats wrong i did but in one account the addon work perfect but when I open my other account nothing work
Something went wrong with today's update?
Checking Guild Bank, my Bag inventory is kind of greyed out, all items. Checking Character Bank shows nothing and the bag bar seems brokenly looking? 3.10.3alpha29
In reply to 40PE: the item context fading appears to have a bug, it thinks nothing you have in your bags can go into the vault so it fades it out. you can still click things though, and ill disable that until its fixed
I have used Arkinventory for many years now and I like the new function of regent and warbank. New windows for both are what I wanted. So THANKS for the good job you do.
with 3.10.33, alpha 29 you combined my personal bank, this is awesome (if i click on any bag), can you do the same for warband bank too?
@Arkayenro: Would you mind if I started a facebook page and put a link here, for people to share their Setups, rules, and a basic help community to get the most out of your addon?
In reply to Draven006: you can do anything you like (just dont redistribute the code) - make sure you point them to the github page for lodging issues (i dont get any notifications about new comments here but i do from there)
Sorting has been really really wonky lately. Not getting bugs, but things are not sorting when refreshing (on manual). I have to go into edit mode, close it, and do it several times for it to sort. Is there something going on with the latest patches?
With the latest update, it appears that all my bag settings have been lost. Did something happen? My rules are still defined, however my bag settings/groupings are gone. My arkinventory lua file went from 2meg to 900k.
In reply to Rasper1234: depending on what version to were on to what you upgraded to the bank, bags, reputation and currency locations all had their data erased at some point in the alphas. the config should still be there though.
In reply to Arkayenro: I may be explaining my situation poorly. What's odd is that a few days ago things were fine, *something* happened in the last few days that caused this problem.
When I look in my bags now, there are no rules/categories/etc assigned to any bar. From I can tell, only my defined rules survives (although they aren't assigned anywhere).
The only interesting bit that I did in the last few days was to buy a single warband bank slot. The arkinventory addon was disabled when I puchased the warband bank slot.
Is this normal?
In reply to Rasper1234: no. its possible your saved variables file got corrupted if youve lost actual config. you should have a backup, even an old one - you can also try the .bak file to see if thats any good (although it gets overridden every now and then)
In reply to Arkayenro: Thanks. I have older backups of my lua file (because this has happened before), but I think I'll just start fresh and rebuild my bags. I just noticed that I have various rules created from long ago that are conflicting/unneeded due to existing categories. Looks like it's time for a fresh start! Thank you for responding so frequently.
Isolating panels 1 2 and 3 is a cool addition, but could they not be put on the top bar, (maybe in line with the other Refresh, Bag Changer etc, but in the middle) or like a tab at the bottom, I know it sounds lazy, but right-clicking to get to the option is a little "not in your face" so make its a little forgetful.
Can Isolating Panel 1 , 2 or 3, have its own blueprints?. Would be awesome to have Panel 3 Isolated, and have its own rules?
Also noticed when Isolating Panels, the bags do not highlight the items that can go into the Warbank (panel 3)
