ArkInventory
ArkInventory (for The War Within)
:boom: Please ensure you are using the latest alpha version if you have the War Within client.
ArkInventory (for Retail, Classic, and Cataclysm)
ArkInventory's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
ArkInventory uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
- user configurable window width and height
- separate keybindings for each location for easy viewing
- assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
- assign categories to the bar of your choice
- unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
- sort each bar differently if required
- user configurable bars per row
- sell junk items automatically or manually (delete available via a keybinding or right clicking when at a vendor)
- random pet and mount summons. can also assign a group of them to select from
Key Bindings:
- Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
- click on Key Bindings
- scroll down to AddOns > ArkInventory
- bind the keys you want to use

:boom: The NoLib variant
it seems quite a few people are somehow getting the NoLib variant from their download client when they didn't specifically ask for it, instead of the full variant, and its causing issues as they don't have the required libraries installed separately. Please ensure you are downloading the full. if you see nolib in the filename then its the wrong variant, unless you are actually installing all of the required libraries separately as well. If you have to you can manually download the full variant from CurseForge, WoWInterface, or Wago.
:boom: Junk Sell getting blocked
While auto-destroy remains blocked, From 30960 onwards you can setup a Key Binding to manually sell and destroy your items. Note that blizzard require one keypress per item deletion, so if you have multiple items that need to be deleted you will need to press the Key Binding multiple times. A message will be output if you have remaining items that can still be deleted.
:warning: Ensure you have backup copies of your saved variables file
Sometimes you cannot revert back to a previous version without a backup, especially alpha or beta versions, so before upgrading please make sure you have made a backup of your saved variables file
Your saved variables file is normally located at ...\World of Warcraft\_client_\WTF\Account\yourwowaccountname\SavedVariables\ArkInventory.lua
It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate backups of your saved variables file. You dont have to do them frequently, just after you've made major changes to your config is probably fine for most people, but you should get into the habit of making backups because when it does corrupt you wont have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
If you have your download client set to automatically download alpha/beta versions you should definitely have backups.
A simple way to back up the saved variables file is to just do a copy and paste then rename the new file (using the version number of ArkInventory or the date is a good idea), eg ArkInventory-30900.lua, or ArkInventory-20191228.lua
At one time and in all the screen shots I look at there are several rows with many bars in each. I can only get 1 row of 8 bars max and can't find how to get more rows. It all changed when I reset the database to try and fix another issue. Tonight I tried deleting the save variables file and the mod and installing it all over again fresh new 1.44 version. It loaded fine and all my old settings are gone, but.. only 1 row of 3 bars which I could increase to 8 bars. How can I make a 2nd row above?
magaggie, I am having the same problems as you do. ArkInventory has been freezng for me whenever I put something from my bank into my bags and vice versa. It also drops my frame rate when I have the bags open.
I asked before but never got an answer. I know how to adjust the number of bars per row, but how do I set the number of rows? Currently only 1 row shows up and max of 8 bars. How can I add a 2nd row?
you don't rows are dynamic. if you want more rows then you need to move a category to a higher bar.
so click on a bar menu, pick an assigned category > move category to bar > select the last bar + 1
Sometimes bags have a Grey layer on it and they are not accessible. Especially in the bank in Stormwind.
menu>bars>hide frames
I've been running performancefu, because I'm having performance problems, and I can actually watch ArkInventory climb up and up in the amount of resources it is using. If I force performancefu to do garbage collection, it drops back down to 2.44, but as I move things from my bank to my backpack, or sell it to vendors, it creeps up higher and higher. Its gotten as high as 14 MB, so....
Any ideas why this is happening? I love this mod, but its killing my performance and I may have to drop it :(
AI uses a *lot* of memory, it always has. performance fu can also include the ace libs memory in there as well depending on which mod starts first, but either way it doesn't really matter. WoW has garbage collection itself, it will clean up whenever it needs to, you dont need to force one.
if memory use is impacting your game then complain, but to be honest, it never has for me. the lag spikes are more annoying because that does impact the game. i just have to try and reorganise the code to make it faster so the spikes are smaller.
I was on 1.38/1.39 and just updated to 1.44 and it totally messed up all my bags. Big deal. the problem is that I went and started repairing the damage by reassigning the items to each slot. I noticed the Weapons option is gone. Being a druid I really liked that because it allows me to switch weapons on the fly and not have to look through 30 different pieces of "Soulbound Gear". Also all the other items kept bouncing around. Motes are conisdered alchemy? primals are herbalism/mining/engineering? why not put them next to each other, yes they come from different sources but why would a primal fire be listed as mining but a mote of fire be engineering? these things may not be entirely correct but they are the gist of my gripes.

Done!
It solved the problem but then other appeared, as the translation for leatherworking is also incorrect. I changed it form "MarroquinerÃa (Marroquiner\195\173a)" to "PeleterÃa (Peleter\195\173a)". Now no more errors are bothering me :)
I think it would be a good idea for you to change this in the next release :)
Thank you!
Yes, sorry, I should have mentioned the meaning of "desollar". It is the verb "to skin", from the skinng profession in wow.
Thanks!
with WoW closed open the Interface\AddOns\ArkInventory\Locale directory edit the file named esES.lua and find the following line
["SKINNING"] = "Desuello",
change it to the correct word that WoW uses in your skills page, presumably Desollar then start WoW up again to check if it works. let me know what you ended up changing it to and i'll update my working copy if required.
A really nice addon but I have one problem since I installed. When installing I still had bagnon as my bag addon, which would open when using the built in bag buttons in WoW. I uninstalled bagnon and then I wanted to be able to open arkinv by using the built in bag buttons. But for some reason I can not link these buttons to Arkinv (they are greyed out). Anyone know a solution for this problem?
Ps. Thanks for a great mod allowing a really good customization.
this is from the ReadMe.txt (the file sitting on your computer after you downloaded this mod).
1.43 (07-JUN-2007)
an alternate fix you can try - but will probably come back up if you have DHUD still loaded
load up your character and open your bags, bank and keyring (doesnt matter if they're offline) and then enter the following into the chat window (one line at a time - copy and paste it)
/script ARKINV_MainFrame1:SetFrameLevel( 3 )
/script ARKINV_MainFrame2:SetFrameLevel( 3 )
/script ARKINV_MainFrame3:SetFrameLevel( 3 )
logout, log back in
if you have the greyed out items then follow the above
I have the problem with bags fading, but whats DHUD? I'm pretty sure i dont have it... but just to be sure... Whats DHUD?
This looks like the Addon I've been wanting for some time due to its ability to sort items into various bars. Unfortunately, after downloading and configuring it, I can't interact with any items in the bars. It's as if everything is read-only.
Is there a solution to this issue?
I cannot create a custom bag. The option is there, but you can't click it. It's yellow. Boo.
Nice work, but if that day becomes, when ArkInv will use less memory... Think about it, >=3Mb is 2 high for "all in one inventory" addon. Good luck.
Same problem like Neskiairti....
