Chatter
Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:
- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel
I'd love to specify which channels to watch and have it sent to sct... like the filters for sound alerts, would be cool to have the same options for which channels to send to sct rather than using keywords(unless there is a way to do this I'm missing).
2. This mod removes filter buttons from Combat tab.
I love this feature but I can't find an option to specify which channel to watch and it's irritating having my scrolling battle text spammed because people are saying "BRB", "AFK", "help" etc in trade and general.
Would it be possible to add an option to only highlight chat while in instances, or is there a way to just watch the party/raid channel that I didn't notice?
Another about font. I have ChatFont disabled, but from time to time my chat fornt size being reset to 13(?) at login. Annoying...
could you change this to 80 now please :)
The IgnoreMore page says: "Chatframe addons should query the chat filters introduced in 2.4", hopefully this helps.
Is SplitText ever going to get resolved?
What's the reason you don't want to download from Curse, if you don't mind me asking?
*It's interface is more user friendly.
*It's categories more extensive.
*The site managers are more responsive to user suggestions.
*It's email notification for updated mods works flawlessly unlike Curse's which sometimes works but most times doesn't. Also, when you get an email from WoWInterface it state right in the subject line what was updated so you don't even have to open the mail. Curse's only says a mod has been updated but you must open the mail to find out which one.
*The WoWInterface site doesn't contain near as many ads per page as Curse. And none with mouse over pop-ups.
But as I said... this is just my opinion... to each his own.
