This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
This addon is now DEPRECATED!! Please use TomTomPing instead! I'm leaving the page up for historical purposes.
FriendlyArrow
Sets up TomTom's Crazy Arrow to always point to a raid or party member via a configurable key binding or slash command.
Uses:
Track a friend you're healbotting in Alterac Valley. (Yes, this works in battlegrounds!)
Find a player who needs a battle res.
Find the tank that's ranged you and desperately needs a heal in a large instance. (Yes, this works in instances too!)
Instructions:
Configure the "Player Arrow -> Toggle arrow" key bind in the default key binding configuration menu to toggle
tracking, be in a raid or a party, target a party/raid member, hit the configured key binding to toggle the TomTom arrow.
Set your target/focus/mouseover to another player and hit the appropriate key binding to switch tracking.
Set the target/focus/mouseover to nothing and hit the key binding again to clear tracking.
Use the slash command and the range checking option to toggle tracking only for party/raid members that aren't in
range. Here's a macro I use:
Hi - thanks for the amazing addon! I'm a healer in a hardcore raiding guild and a frequent battleground healer, and even though I just found this addon I already don't know how I ever lived without it!
Feature request:
I'd like the ability to also pop up an arrow (possibly of a different color) to the target of a spell that failed due to line-of-sight. There are many cases where knowing the direction to your heal target could help you re-establish line-of-sight (eg Yogg-Saron Brain room).
Perhaps this could be accomplished using the same heal macros you suggest, with a new addon option to enable hooking the line-of-sight error to toggle the arrow on with a selectable "line-of-sight" color.
Anyhow, I started a new job this week and haven't had any time to work on this. Heck, I haven't even had time to play! Anyhow, it's the weekend, so hopefully I can get some more of issues resolved.
Barf thanks for working so hard on this! and Including me in the patch notes. Lets get the multi level thing worked out this week so we can use it more in Ulduar!
Note the version number. This is literally something I cobbled together in an hour's worth of programming. Expect it to be bugged. I'm working on a version which should be solid tonight. Look for it, and expect to upgrade TomTom too.
Lol don't get me wrong, man...I really love the idea and that's why it was driving me nuts; I couldn't tell if I was missing something or if the addon was totally non-functional. Sounds like the keybind header and entry ARE missing, so now I know I'm not an idiot. I'll keep an eye out for the update. In the mean time, I'll keep trying to figure out a way to bind it's function to a key.
How's the addon coming? I can't wait to try it out because this sounds really useful. I just still can't find the keybind heading and entry in the Keybinds menu... Any way to manually bind it?
Can't find the "Player Arrow" header or name in the bindings menu...I've looked almost a dozen times and I just can't find it in there. I even checked the .xml file to make sure I was looking for the right name. Any thoughts?

v0.3.3 does not play well with no-lib packaging because the libraries are not listed as optional dependencies. This should be added to the TOC file:
## OptionalDeps: LibStub, CallbackHandler-1.0, Ace3, LibAboutPanel

Stopped tracking raid member ____
Explicit toggle of the same unit as before
Anyone else seeing this?

No rush, I just really like this idea, should help loads in PvP.
Thanks
Barf
Looking forward to using this--it'll be a lifesaver the next time I need to brez someone and I don't know where they managed to die.
