This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
Collects Herbs, Mines, Gas Clouds and Fishing locations and adds them to the worldmap and minimap.
Please note this has been replaced with GatherMate2 for Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria.
GatherMate doesn't use wowhead it uses wowdb Gatherer however does use wowhead (two differnt addons both do similar/same thing/s). As for nodes not showing it shows the possible spawn location of nodes as at one point in time there was a node there and that node was harvested by someone and that information submitted to wowdb and then into GatherMate.
Glad to see Vincents post cause I was beginning to think I was the only one after reading all these comments. I've been trying it for a couple of days now in various zones for mining and most of the nodes don't exist. I imported the Gathermate_Data so is Wowhead that much out of date??
I have been using this addon for several weeks now and have to say that it shows way to many nodes that do not exist. I have been flying around Sholazar wigh two alts for weeks now and never saw 90% of the nodes, regardless of the daytime. I am running Gatherer now parallel and that way I see where the nodes really are.
One question: When harvesting, do you store the location of the resource or the location of the player? It seems to me that player locations are stored, that would be a reason for so many non existing locations.
Can't you just remove marks that are in a certain vicinity from each other? And what about storing how many times a certain node has been harvested like Gatherer does? That way when a node is reported only once for weeks, it can be deleted from the database.
Two ways: On the Interface menu, look for "database maintenance", then "clean up database". That will clear up marks right on top of each other. To get rid of marks that are for nothing, go to your main map, and right click on that mark. You should be able to delete that single mark...
Saronite Deposits aren't being displayed by the proper icon. The icons look like Khorium ore (small grayish purple circles) instead of the bright green diamond style of Saronite Ore. It would be nice if Saronite Deposits matched their ore icons like every other type of deposit does.
Ok so I thought the nodes always reappear in the same locations? Is this not true? Because if it is, I'm confused as to why when I do a data import using gathermate_data I get so many nodes showing up on my map. I'm just a little confused is all, can someone help plz?
s s ssss
thanks
