This project is inactive and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. The author may have abandoned it, or it may have outlived its usefulness.

Moncai Quest Tracker

I have been developing my modified quest tracker over the past few years. Each time Blizzard updated it's tracker, I updated mine with it. Coded from the ground up again for patch 3.3 and adapted to 4.0.1, I'm releasing it here so others may benefit.

New release

Beta 4.0.1 is live and fixes issues with some quests and adds the option to show quest ID's
Beta 4.0.0 is live and should fix (hopefully all) Cataclysm incompatibilities.
Beta 3.3.3.2 (r36) is live. This fixes Questguru compatibility, collapsed tracker width and re-introduces the buddy system (at a basic level).

Current features

New: Tracker is optionally movable and you may choose to display Item buttons on the left side, see config (/mqt) under "Placement"
Tracker shows levels and colors but still stays true to the original by Blizzard
Includes all the questing goodies Blizzard has put into the 3.3.3 update
If you quest with someone else who has this tracker, you can track their progress
Works with QuestHelper 1.3.x, reflecting the order in which to do the quests (version 1.3.10 tested)
Works with Tourguide style addons by using built-in proximity sorting
Shift-click a header in the Questlog to toggle the watches for all quests under that header
Access the configuration screen by typing /mqt in the chat window or via "Game Menu"-"Interface"-"Addons"
A few features I have missed

QuestHelper integration

For a successfull integration with QuestHelper, please mind the following things:

Please use version 1.3.7 or higher of QuestHelper
Make sure it's enabled in the configuration screen (type /mqt to access it)
Disable the built-in tracker of QuestHelper, either via it's configuration menu or via the slash command "/qh track" (without the quotes).

Since QuestHelper is no longer actively developed, you may also want to disable the integration and then Right-Click the WatchFrame header ("Objectives") and in the pop-up menu select "Proximity" under "Sort Quests". Tip: this also works well with Tourguide based addons

Upcoming features

For now I consider the tracker fairly feature-complete except for the buddy leveling-system which I hope to extend in the future. If you have ideas, feel free to create a ticket on wowace describing your wanted feature.

Beta, what does that mean?

Oh yes, there will be bugs! Since I am only one person it's impossible for me to test every setup or addon-combination. If you like, please give it a try, and help me make the addon better. Your feedback is kindly appreciated!

Beta 4.1.0 is here! It *should* be fully WoW 4.1.0-compatible. I think I've even fixed a long standing bug with link buttons going crazy when tracking achievements, but I haven't been able to test it with Overachiever yet because that addon doesn't work with 4.1 (yet). If you come across any bugs, feel free to create a ticket on WoWAce http://www.wowace.com/addons/moncaiqt/tickets/ (Same login as curse, same company).

Thank you very much! New version seems to be working fine, at least for me, though I've only tested it with a couple of my characters so far. I'm very happy to have MQT back, it makes the objectives frame so much better than anything else!

Works well with Overachiever but cannot get it to work with Questguru. No errors just doesn't show up tracker at all. Also is there anyway to increase size of tracker please as I have my screen set at high resolution and it is too small to read so will use quest guru till you can let me know how to enlarge it overall as a percentage is fine ;). Does look awesome and look forward to using it when realms back up ;).

A new version of this addon will be coming out for 4.1. However, since my amount of free time is limited, I cannot guarantee a release date yet. In the mean time, thank you for your patience and your support of this addon!

I seriously miss not having MQT, I just cannot find anything else that looks as good or works as well as MQT! I'm sure I'm just one of a great many who are eagerly awaiting a working version for 4.1, I just hope we won't have to wait too long!

Seems that I can't abandon any quest while this addon is active, I have to turn it off /reloadui, abandon quest and then put it on again :/

Great addon anyway!

I'm sorry, but I do not know any cause in my addon for the behaviour you describe. Unless you can give me a specific combination of Moncai Quest Tracker and one other addon that produces this behaviour, I'm afraid I couldn't possibly investigate your issue.

I don't yet have this addon, but often times I can't abandon a quest until I reload my ui. Since it doesn't break right away I haven't bothered to try tracking down what addon is causing the problem, but I imagine you also have other addon(s) causing this problem.

Great addon. The quest "Burning to Help" needs to be revised to direct players to Bittertide Lake, where the mobs for the quest are, the current location is incorrect.

Does this quest tracker support the new quest "types" with Cata? Ie: Walk into a zone and you are given a quest without talking to anyone. These quests will also pop up a small window for you to turn in once completed. They are very common when going from 80-85, and I believe there are some also in the lower level dungeons on live right now. QuestGuru's Tracker does not support these and the author won't be updating it. So I am looking for a quest tracker that will.

They aren't just common in dungeons.

I had to drop questguru myself earlier as I was questing in felwood and had a quest I couldn't complete (no turn in npc). Disabled quest guru, and the default tracker had the "Click to Complete Quest" pop up in it. I then had like 3 or 4 follow quests that worked in pretty much the same fashion.

I would also like to find out if this tracker supports these new types.

I too would like to know, being a former QG user myself, I'm on the lookout for a tracker (replacement).
Highly annoyed with the lack of options for the Blizzard tracker, missing all of the options QG offered... :)

Just tested the tracker by using one of the vehicle quests which I had previously seen using the new tracker behavior.
Works! :)

Folks - check out QuestHelper again. It's been reworked for 4.0.1, and a new author is taking over the reins. At version QuestHelper_Redux-4.0.1.31b (the Redux will probably go away soon)

My Tracker still supports integration with QuestHelper, so feel free to get the best of both addons in tandem!
