Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

MrTrader is a Tradeskill window replacement, with additional features to streamline how you interact with others for your tradeskills, especially if you have alts. Browse all your tradeskills from any character on the same server, link them just as easily to others, and even allow others to ask for a tradeskill link without having to do anything on your part.

- Browse your guild's tradeskills without having to dig through the guild roster window.

LibDataBroker displays like Fortress or TitanPanel are required for the Tradeskill Access menu feature. I personally like TitanPanel, but any of them will work.

Been awhile since MrTrader got a feature update, but it doesn't mean the project has been abandoned yet. I've been churning on a few concepts for how to to revamp the tradeskill window UI and make it my own. I think I'm starting to settle down on a design I like that will eventually make it into 0.5.

It is still very rough and in the alpha/beta stage, but I believe it can serve as the core for a solid offering going forward.

The idea here is that sorting through items has become complex enough that an Auction House-style UI is probably better suited, where your filters live on the left side and are easier to explore. Once I get the core functionality worked out, I expect this list to get more interesting as it grows to use a group & subgroup style like the AH. Things like sorting by category, item slot, difficulty (great for those leveling skills still), and adding custom categories are on the to-do list.

The other advantage of this design is that without a queue, it takes up less space than double-wide, but still remains easier to navigate than the default UI. Integrating a queue would come in a later release, and likely live in a tab or secondary window.

i loaded your add-on and when i log in i get 10 diffrent errors. i cant seem to get it to work

While not the most useful report, I think I found the source of the problem... more missing libraries.

Again, tickets on WoWAce will get looked at more quickly.

I just noticed on an alt that has no trade skills at all, is not being recorded in the mrtrader.lua save file. So when a chat request comes in it tried to query that char first, and since it isn't in the save file it errors out as trying to reference a null value.

Simple fix was to learn cooking. I did think it was funny to have a level 65 with no skills what so ever.

Great addon though, good work!

Thanks for the catch on that. Sometimes I am a bit behind on reading these comments though, but I get notified by e-mail of tickets opened on WoWAce.

So if there is an bug needing to be looked at, I'll usually get to it faster if a ticket gets opened.

It appears I'm having a similar library issue to that below. I am getting the following error.

Message: ..\AddOns\MrTrader\TradeskillDB.lua line 145:
Cannot find a library instance of "AceDBOptions-3.0".

I've had Titan Panel for quite some time now, is there a plug-in I have failed to install as well?

I think this is just proof I need to test this on a clean WoW install and make sure all my libraries are properly referenced so they get loaded correctly. In the meantime, I have an update coming which should address your particular issue.

This looks like it's gonna be a good mod but I can't seem to make it work. I downloaded titan panel along w/ this, but I can't seem to make an icon for mrtrader appear. I don't know if it's titan panel not working or mrtrader, but is there a command or something to make the list that's shown in the screen shot appear?

Right click on your titan bar, look in the general menu and click on 'MrTrader' there. I know it looks like another menu, but it is just one of the quirks of Titan that bug me.

Once you click the menu item it should appear checked, and you should see the icon (a set of balances) appear on the right side of of the bar. Just click on the icon to bring up the menu.

Ah ok, I got them up now, perfect. I do notice that I can't link my books in chat. I can link individual formulas, recipes, etc, but can't link the whole book. saw up there they said you have to "refresh" the links but I"m not sure what that meant, I logged on 1 toon & ...clicked it lol then went on another & still couldn't link from that book of the 1st toon. Is that possible?

If you installed MrTrader after 3.1 came out, ignore it. I've removed that note to prevent further confusion.

I assume you are trying to use the link button in the tradeskill window? That won't work for your alts' skills. It isn't your current character's skill, so you aren't allowed to link it from the tradeskill window. It is just the way the WoW client works.

You can shift click any tradeskill in the menu to add it to the chat editor, as stated in the tooltips for tradeskills.

I seem to get an error on my DK and wont show his nor my Priest skills but did get my Lock and Hunter skills which i can link to other ppl.Here is what I get..

Hmm, looks like a library that should be present isn't. I stupidly used Broker_Transit's menu system as a base for mine, and forgot to make sure I had all the dependencies correctly setup. Oops.

I'll fix this in the next release (should be soonish, I think), but as a workaround you can install something like Broker_Transit which will make AceLIbrary available to MrTrader.

This addon looks great!

With the death of CraftList2, MrTrader is the only available replacement at the moment for us alt whores who want to link alts' professions.

I'd like to request that you use a feature that was the main function of CL2 - respond to whispers with profession or tradeskill links. IE !craft belt of the guardian returns a link for all items matching "belt of the guardian", !gem epic stamina returns all epic stam gem cuts, !full blacksmithing returns all blacksmithing profession links, etc.

If you can code this into a TradeSkill UI replacement too, that would be amazing. Skillet (an addon based on ATSW) is dead, and ATSW is not quite as great as Skillet would have been if they had kept on it.

I understand that this will take a lot of effort to implement, but it would be extremely useful to me personally, and most likely anybody else who used CL2 regularly. Whatever you decide to do with your addon is up to you, but that's my input =)

Thanks for the feedback on this. I've been kicking around the idea of turning it into a tradeskill UI replacement, but I've still not got a feature-set and layout that I like yet. ATSW is /almost/ there for me, but the UI has a lot of niggles that drive me nuts.

I do like the idea of being able to auto-respond to whisper commands. Not sure I can support '!craft'-like commands off the bat (I don't catalogue the tradeskill right now, I just record the link itself), but '!full' should be pretty easy to implement right now. The other commands would probably have to wait until I have a tradeskill UI replacement that I am happy with.

I'd also like to say thanks to those providing localizations. And sorry for nuking the tradeskill names out of the localization table after you guys translated them. I had switched to letting WoW localize those for me and forgot to remove them.

v0.4 should include real German and Russian support thanks to you guys.

TAP3AH, I decided to push out the support quickly instead of languishing over getting the config bits setup. I'll just live with it until I find time to fix up an option for users like me who want that separation.

So with that, grab 0.3.2 and let me know how well it works for you.

Oops, looks like I accidentally had the Ticket system disabled. Should be able to create Tickets now.

Changing it can be as simple as that, but as I myself don't want to see the menu cluttered up with both factions (I do have toons on both sides of the same realm), I'd need to make it an option. At that point, it becomes more than just search/replace. Especially since there are no other options yet.

How useful is it to farm for, link or examine the tradeskills of an alt on the opposite faction? Especially when PvP servers only allow characters of one faction

Ofc, on PvP realms is completely useless. I play on a PvE realm and I exchange items over neutral AH all the time. Especially trade stuff (mats and recipes). Also, I often make gear and enchants for my alts and friend's characters with my other faction's characters. So, It would be useful for my, although I must admit not many people do that.
Anyway, changing it requires minimal effort: just switch from db.factionrealm to db.realm. Ofc, people would be required to delete their already saved data.

feel free to open a ticket so I can track it as a feature request.

I wanted to put this as a ticket in first place, but I don't see ticket link on this page.
