Description
GemList will make your life as a jewelcrafter easier. after installation you open your jewelcrafting panel. now your friends will be able to whisper you
!gems red
to get a list of gems you can craft that fit into a red socket. of course this works with blue/yellow/meta, too.

Before reporting Bugs
pls make sure you use the most current version of GemList. Try the link above. Try disabling all other mods and see if the problem persists. If it does not, update your other mods. If it does, post your problem and mention the version number. use /glist version or look into changelog.txt to find out.
Options
You can set some options using /gemlist or /glist.
/glist inc Toggles whether incoming requests are shown
/glist out Toggles whether outgoing replies are shown
/glist autoscan Toggles whether your Jewelcrafting panel will be automatically scanned when opened. DON'T use this if you use the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix"
/glist desc Toggles searching in description. This is to enable searching for Stats like int, agi +heal and so on
/glist scan Manually scan your Jewelcrafting panel. You have to open it first. Do this if Autoscan is turned off and you learn a new Gem
/glist tlock Determines the Spamlock Timer in seconds. Customers will get a msg to wait x seconds before next query
/glist chatprefix Use this to change the prefix which will trigger GemList in whispers to you. !gem will work always though
'/glist version Prints Version Info. Use this before reporting bugs
/glist insert lets you manually insert gems into the databse. this is the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix" This is not longer needed

FAQ
since this is a FAQ here a clarification on the query system:
there are no options to filter by hardcoded into the mod. it searches over occurences of the queried words in the gem's tooltip (stats and color here), name, rarity, itemlink and reagents. for a query to return any gems, ALL words in the query have to appear in one of these.
you could search for sta stam stami stamin stamina sp spi spir spirit str stre stren streng strengt strength blu blue yel yello heal healing crit spell damage agi agility def defense
and even any combination like blue spell yellow mana heal rare red def [itemlink] agi

Posted Apr 1, 2007As a non-jewelcutter, I only have webpages and friends to ask about jewels, sockets, and so on. I would REALLY like an addon that I can uses as a non-jewelcutter that would get me the information I want, namely what can I put in my sockets, what gems are required to produce certain jewels (and often the other way around), searching for e.g. +sta jewels and so on.
Does such an addon exist?
It seems like this addon could be use, but it would need a prerecorded savedvariables file. Does a prerecorded file exist that contains all jewels available?

Posted Mar 24, 2007This mod is a lifesaver, I have used it since first version came and it keeps getting better. There is actually only a few things im missing in it, which is more than I can say for most mods.
I would love to have added 4 categories to gems, those beeing:
caster (spell dmg, spell crit, int etc) healer (healing, mp5 etc) melee (agi, str, ap, crit, hit etc) tank (defense, parry etc)
Im quite sure there could be much more categories, but imo keep it to a minimum, easier to use then.
Then when a customer asks for gems, instead of teaching him the whole thing about browsing, stats and colors (there is allways comeone that just wont grasp it form the text they get on "!ge,), I could use ie for a mage: "/glist send [player] caster", or specify it more to "/glist send [player] caster rare red" if needed. The customers can then also use "!gem caster" to query then.
The real work in this is categorizing the gems, as they need to be in multiple categories, but on the other hand thats a 1 time job i guess on a limited amount of gems?
Anyways, just my thoughts on a improvement thats easier than going by for instance class, which is ofc also doable, but with hybrid classes you would get some classes to have all gems available...

If it as a limit of lines can you please split the meta gems and rare ones
Caus ei have a macro that adevertize my JC satying to peep to /w me !gem stat / meta / rare, blbalal
If they use !gem meta they only see the meta ones
then if you do !gems rare only rare ones.
Notice that although Meta gems are blue gems they not Rare but Meta, so they shouldnt appear as rare, i think.
i know for certain that there's 9 meta gems in game, and 28 rare ones, cause i have them all :P,
also suggest that, apart from spliting the meta and rares, as i said above, you can also split the rares in 2, Like
!gems rare1 ------ for Talasite, Nightseye and dawnsotone thats 13 gems
and
!gems rare2 ------ for Star of Elune, noble topaz, Living ruby 15 gems
this last one seems absurd but with advertizing peep get use to it.

I download it and once somebody send me a request it only showes "No Gems in List" ... After that i tryed to scan my gems with /glist scan but nothing happens ....

Muatar: i think this has to do with gratuity. try updating your other Ace-Mods too. you could use WowAceUpdater for this. I'm sry but I did not find a way to reproduce this bug.
