Description
GemList will make your life as a jewelcrafter easier. after installation you open your jewelcrafting panel. now your friends will be able to whisper you
!gems red
to get a list of gems you can craft that fit into a red socket. of course this works with blue/yellow/meta, too.

Before reporting Bugs
pls make sure you use the most current version of GemList. Try the link above. Try disabling all other mods and see if the problem persists. If it does not, update your other mods. If it does, post your problem and mention the version number. use /glist version or look into changelog.txt to find out.
Options
You can set some options using /gemlist or /glist.
/glist inc Toggles whether incoming requests are shown
/glist out Toggles whether outgoing replies are shown
/glist autoscan Toggles whether your Jewelcrafting panel will be automatically scanned when opened. DON'T use this if you use the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix"
/glist desc Toggles searching in description. This is to enable searching for Stats like int, agi +heal and so on
/glist scan Manually scan your Jewelcrafting panel. You have to open it first. Do this if Autoscan is turned off and you learn a new Gem
/glist tlock Determines the Spamlock Timer in seconds. Customers will get a msg to wait x seconds before next query
/glist chatprefix Use this to change the prefix which will trigger GemList in whispers to you. !gem will work always though
'/glist version Prints Version Info. Use this before reporting bugs
/glist insert lets you manually insert gems into the databse. this is the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix" This is not longer needed

FAQ
since this is a FAQ here a clarification on the query system:
there are no options to filter by hardcoded into the mod. it searches over occurences of the queried words in the gem's tooltip (stats and color here), name, rarity, itemlink and reagents. for a query to return any gems, ALL words in the query have to appear in one of these.
you could search for sta stam stami stamin stamina sp spi spir spirit str stre stren streng strengt strength blu blue yel yello heal healing crit spell damage agi agility def defense
and even any combination like blue spell yellow mana heal rare red def [itemlink] agi

Posted Feb 4, 2007Just noticed a typo/error in the intro text when someone whispers !gems.
It says, !gem [Bold Living Ruby] - returns gems made of a Bold Living Ruby.
I think you meant to just put a Living Ruby there, and not the Bold Variant. :-P

Posted Feb 4, 2007I get error: <gemlist> Datenbank ist zur Zeit leer Autoscan doesnt work, command /glist scan dont seems ti execute, i cant press Return
When i turn off all my addons, exept gemlist it works. After loading with all addons it works until i open the JC window, after that i get: <gemlist> Datenbank ist zur Zeit leer.
Semms to be a prob with an other ace addon?

Posted Feb 4, 2007Would love to have an option that you can enable that will simply say ""..player.." has inquired about your gems." when someone whispers you the first command (!gems) to see the main options... not every time they search for a more specific gem.
Also it could be neat to have some way to add pre-set fees for all of the different combines... I.E. someone searches for "!gem melee meta" and it responds with "[Brutal Earthstorm Diamond] (10g)"
And I would absolutely love to see an enchanting version of this. :)

i think a notification about just the !gems command would not be consistent. many ppl use their first query to search for specific gems. perhaps i will add a notification with something like a cooldown like 10 minutes per customer.
As for the fees: I'll think about it. But perhaps i will not do this myself but add support for FizzWidget Reagentcost. Im not sure about this atm.
as for the "enchanting version" this addon is actually BASED on EnchantList.

Posted Feb 3, 2007Great mod, helps alot for sort out he huge number of gems i can cut. Some suggestions/requests for features. searchable by stat accepting linked gems into a request, right now it cant read it if you link a gem in.

Posted Feb 2, 2007Is it just me or does the latest beta not allow you to scan your designs into the database, Auto scan is on when the JC window is up, and manual scan doesnt seem to execute at all. Am i missing something or are others having this problem??

bikinduck: i added your suggestions, thx. a readme.txt will come... at some time :) feel free to contribute :P as for the "tooltip": look at localization.lua, you can add or modify lines there. instead of spamming "/w me !gems" you could also spam "/w me !gems red, blue, yellow or meta" :)
jehna: try adding "rare" to the query.
shamino: i want to add itemlink support, but i want it to recognize socketed items aswell. so gemllist would reply with gems fitting that item.
