Past Versions
Cryolysis 2 is now the official release download.
Barring any unforeseen problems, Cryolysis 1 ("Revived", "Reborn", "New Beginning") will no longer be updated/supported. If there is a specific reason(s) you're using Version 1 and need a hot fix to keep it working, you can post here in comments (make sure you note that you are referring to Version 1) or send any member of the team a private message through Curse (list is in the top right corner), and we will try to implement fixes as time permits.
FAQ
- Configuration Menu
To open the Configuration Menu, right-click the Main-Sphere. If you have hidden the main sphere, you can get a list of of commands by typing "/cryo". - Custom Buttons
Custom buttons can now use either spells, items, or macros. Make sure when setting up the custom buttons that you select the correct type (ie: spell, macro, item) and that you press Enter after typing in the name. If you don't press enter, your changes will not be saved. - Spell Timers
Timers have not been implemented yet. As such, the spell timers option should be turned off in the configuration menu for now. These will be implemented sometime after patch 2.4. - Messages/Speeches
Currently, Short Messages have not been implemented. There are a number of different options to display random messages:- USER: Messages will display for you only. Mildly useless, but the functionality is there.
- WORLD: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that /say.
- GROUP: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that it will remain silent. Old Cryo1 Behavior.
- RAID: Messages will display for /raid, bar that it will remain silent.
- PARTY: Messages will display for /party, bar that it will remain silent.
- SAY: Messages will display in /say.
- Localizations
To help localise Cryo2 in your language, download Cryo2 from WoWAce, edit your locale file in the /locales/ and send it to us. Files should be encoded in utf-8.
Other Info
User input is very important, so please post here anything related to the mod's functionality with as much detail as possible. Please only post Cryolysis 2 errors, as the original Cryolysis will no longer be getting updated Thanks.
Broom Mounts FTW lol.
It wasn't that I wanted another spell there, that does work, just rewrite and override, it was I didn't want a spell in that slot but once I put something there I couldn't get it out to nothing again (I just put detect magic there but seeing as it's going away on Tuesday...). Could leaving the type in bar blank and hitting enter be the wipe? (that's what I thought it might be anyway when I messed up).
Sphere thing could be some saved variables on my end, I'll fitz with it some more. Maybe it's getting some cross interference from Cryo1 which I was just using (no I don't leave Cryo1 installed when I boot the game with Cryo2 installed).
Edit: Yep, sphere working now. yay.
The reason why you can't just type "" in is because the spell you type in is used to the texture. So if you typed in "", it would throw a nasty lua error because no texture could be found. What I ended up doing to prevent this was check the spell against the character's spellbook. If the spell was found, I display a nicer looking informative error in the chat window. :) Like I said, I'll add a remove spell bindings button for each custom button soon...maybe in the next release, not sure yet.
Edit: On second thought, I could save menu space if I just didn't check the string when it's empty....hm...then you could still have the nicer error and have a more sensible way to remove spell bindings (It's also easier to do.) It'll be in the next release (which might be tomorrow).

Indeed, Sheeping in sphere doesn't work
This should be fixed in version I'm posting later tonight.

Hi Folks,
at first i´d like to thank you for this great MoD !
Is there a schedule to make it useable for other languages, because Iám using the German Client.
Thanks

I'm expecting to start localization within the next week. This is assuming no major bugs are found.

Expecting to upload a new release tomorrow (Saturday) evening sometime. I have to add/fix some tooltips and then I'll put it up. This next release is going to have a bunch of bug fixes and the new(ish) mana gem menu.
-Jim-
Well, I have some bad news...it would appear that you can't change the attributes (spell/item) that a button affects while in combat. So I have to re-add the mana gem menu. :( I had a misconception as to why the mana gem button wasn't possible and thought I had had a solution. I'm really sorry everyone.
-Jim-
It's ok. We know you tried.
Heck, I thought it wasn't possible AT ALL so I was shocked to see it back, but I understand now that the menu is indeed needed (though seeing as the button functions only become locked in combat that raises the question, who conjures gems and uses them in combat?)
On another note, is it possible to get the keybindings back as well? I had my gems bound to my keyboard buttons through Cryolysis and I'd hate to have to go back to using the mouse to hit buttons during critical times in combat.
Keybindings are coming soon, trying fix the current bugs before working on more features. I think I've fixed most of them with this latest release. I'd like to get to work on the timers soon as well.
I agree that conjuring gems could be re-implemented as a non-menu thing. You just won't be able to conjure them in combat, which seems senseless anyway. The only time I would ever consider conjuring a gem in combat was if I knew Evocation or Innervate was going to give me more mana than I was missing.
We'll see what the future holds. :)

I'd like to know if there is a way to assign an item to one of the custom buttons, or a crafting spell, like
Left Click: Use Heavy Netherweave Bandage
Right Click: Create Heavy Netherweave Bandage
Also if I could assign the buttons to trinkets.
At this point, there's not...but I will be adding it in the near future.

This mod looks very interesting. I'm gonna have to try it sometime. Added to faves for easy checking. :)
Can't use the next gem inline when im in combat. Kinda anoying in boss fights ^^
I have a level 47 mage. The initial install has a Conjure Mana Emerald, a spell I don't have. How do I set it up to conjure mana jade/ agate? When I have those two conjured from my spell book, they show up on the mana emerald tooltip and can be used, but I cannot conjure them from the same button.
This should be fixed in the next release with the implementation of the mana gem menu.

Cant seem to figure out why my mount button doesn't have a mount in it or do anything. Tried dragging my mount into the button but that didn't do anything.
Which mount do you have? I most likely need to add it to the mount list.

I don't want to beat a dead horse here and I am grateful for your efforts but what exactly are you trying to do in rewriting this mod? You had a mod that worked well, has everything that was needed and was easily configurable in 5 minutes. Now you have a lot of issues. What is going to be accomplished when you get done? What things we don't have now will we have then that make this worth the effort? Why not take a great mod that works and tweak it and keep it running rather than reinvent the wheel?
This question has been asked before. Cryo1 had horrible memory issues as well as horrible CPU utilization. It used what is called "constant polling" of the UI to get information, thus making it use a lot of CPU power. High memory usage and high CPU usage leads to bad FPS. For awhile, I tried to fix the original (see Cryolysis: Revived here on Curse), but the way the code was structured didn't allow for much tweaking, thus the decision to do a full re-code came about. With Cryo2, my goal is to provide the same features with more efficient and easier to maintain code. I also wanted to add more customization options so that the mod could do more.
As far as issues go, of course there are issues...this version has been public for less than a week. When I first released it, I wasn't sure if it was going to work for anyone other than myself and was extremely overjoyed when the only reports coming back were feature requests and visual fixes (not the nasty red-text lua errors).
If you don't like Cryo2, then don't use it. Cryo1 is still available, as well as many other mods that have similar functionality to Cryo. This recode was because I couldn't stand the in-efficiency of Cryo1, and instead of hogging it to myself, I've decided to share it with everyone else.
